Javascript 2.0 will be an implementation of EcmaScript version 4. EcmaScript version 4 maybe still in the lab, however Adobe ActionScript 3.0 (the latest scripting language of Flash) resembles much of how javascript 2.0 will look like. So it's not all that new.
I expect a lot of people will hook off on JavaScript 2.0. The learning curve will be steep especially for those people who used Javascript to get thing done in a quick and dirty style. ActionScript 1.0 resembled much with EcmaScript 3 or the javas
