It wouldn't be hard to start a movement and get people to sign-up for a demand to change a word like allowlist to something else, and then jump on the something else to change it again.
There is no possible way that any rational human, whom understands the language in question, English in this case, could mistake Master and Slave, as used in technology, for the context of non-voluntary human slavery. How far are we willing to go to bubble wrap the world so no one can get offended, over anything, even by accident, and their own willingness to not understand?
We're not as it happens. You might have noticed but a LOT of people seem to be deeply offended by this. The choice isn't about whether to offend fewer people, it's about who to offend and who has the worst reasons for taking offence.
As TFS said about one of the points, it's a negative cost change since the new terminology is clearer.
Not so, a lot of people are not offended by this.,
A relative handful are though, and they are so vocal that it seems there is a lot of people offended. And I'd say a lot of those woulndn't care either way unless their peers were telling them to be offended (or else)

Oh well good. In that case the removal of the words from various codebases can proceed as normal then since very few people are actually offended by the removal.
Except that master/slave describes precisely what the I2C bus (for example) is doing. People like your self who have no fucking clue need to stay out of it and let those of us who know how things work (and are doing the work of keeping them work) do our jobs.
Which apparently now includes having to tell dipshits like yourself to either get a clue or stfu.

I'm just going to leave that there for the irony lulz.
I love watching a bunch of know nothings latch on to something and then parrot it desperately. You've never used and I2C bus in your life and yet it's of deathly importance that someone doesn't change the "master/slave" terminology in OpenZFS because you know so little about either you think one has something to do with
Only through hard work and perseverance can one truly suffer.
