Installing Debian GNU/Linux on the Rebel NetWinder

There were only 100 of these things made according to the article. This makes it very unlikely that I can get my hands on one.

But, I've got a DirectTV DSL modem sitting in my closet. It's got a PowerPC chip sitting on it, and some flash memory. I would love to see an article on how to get Linux installed on that thing.

Occasionally you might find one or two netwinders on ebay. I got mine from there about 1+ year ago.

And btw I've been always running Debian on it :) (Potato only though)

Aren't they still being made

At Netwinder.net [netwinder.net], netwinder computers are still for sale. They have the transmeta-based Desktop Officeserver 3100 for sale for 900 USD. Isn't this the same computer (or very similar) to the one referenced in the article?
