Linux Archive, Now By Date

RobotWisdom writes "Ibiblio's historic archive for Linux, linked recently, offers lots of old distros, but the dates aren't obvious. I went through and dug out what dates I could for my timeline, but couldn't find any date for several." Robot Wisdom managed to collect an impressive list; read on below for the result.

Some digging on the slackware [slackware.com] site brings up the following dates:

SW 7.0 released Tue, 2 Nov 1999
SW 8.0 released Sun, 1 Jul 2001
SW 8.1 released 2002-06-18
SW 9.0 released 2003-03-19

Unfortunately it doesn't go back further.

Based on changelogs here [slackware.biz], here [postgresql.org] and here [archive.org] , plus your dates, I've dug up all the release dates from 1.1.1 to 9.0 (and 7.1 is just off of their web site)
