SPAW Editor 2 Released

While it's true that some of these are not good... through the comments I've come to know of many great softwares and real user experiences which have helped me to find much better. So while it's true, I take the "Slashvertisements" with a shaker of salt, I do like seeing the insightful comments and real people who actually make it worthwhile.

SPAW Editor v.2 is a web based in-browser WYSIWYG HTML editor control. It is a replacement for standard HTML textarea fields for rich text content editing.

It's not a stand alone editor for writing PHP files. That's why you might not have heard of it.

I've been using TinyMCE [moxiecode.com] for about a year now and haven't found anything better. For anyone looking to integrate a WYSIWYG editor in to their site, it is the route I recommend; Certainly over this product.

They, too, insist on using popup windows in some of their plugins. This is simply not acceptable.

That it uses LGPL is more favorable for TinyMCE, but from a functionality standpoint what do you find better about it? I'm looking at implementing one of them for commercial use (as a hosted service) and would appreciate your thoughts on it.

Another nice editor is FCKeditor [fckeditor.net]. At least for me it worked better than all the rest that I had to test and it was all of it available under the LGPL. If I remember properly, some parts (plugins) for TinyMCE were only under a commercial license.

Unless I'm reading that wrong, you can buy the full 'unlimited' version for 100 euros. Or you can upgrade from the single server version to the unlimited version for 175 euros.

WTF? Hard to trust a company that can't even price their own products.

The first price is upgrading from "unlimited" to "enterprise" and costs 100 euros. The second price is upgrading from "single server" to "enterprise" and costs 175 euros.

That said... +4, really? I can understand how someone can misread the pricing structure since it's a little confusing. But how can at least two people mod this up when simply reading the post they're moderating would show them he just misread the stuff he quoted? You don't even have to follow any links, the information's all there.

You are correct, I was looking at the upgrade pricing instead of the regular pricing.

The fact that there is no 'unlimited' version is still odd. I suppose it must only have existed in 1.x...

Exactly what does this output? I can't believe that it outputs well formed HTML, of a modern version, with CSS formatting, and all that happy stuff. Well, I guess I COULD believe it, but i'm not going to until someone confirms otherwise.

This won't help you write POOP (PHP Object Oriented Programming) code - it's not an IDE...
